"Stan's Toffee Run is a predominantly off-road, undulating race that starts and finishes at the Elsecar Heritage Centre. It takes in the surrounding woods and fields of Wentworth that were so loved by Stan. The 1 lap, 4 mile route has altered slightly from the first running of the race in 2010 but still involves a nice steep climb up to Needle's Eye in Wentworth with a lengthy descent over stiles and through fields back into Elsecar too round things off." |

"Venue of the Wickersley Chase is the Three Horseshoes, 133 Bawtry Road." "It's a 10-15 minute walk from the Three Horseshoes to the start which is on Wood Lane." "The race starts with a short (about 400m) road run followed by a 100m lane at the back of Wickersley School. A sharp turn right takes a path into and through Wickersley Wood emerging on to a dirt path which reaches First Lane. A dirt field path then descends due south to Second Lane. The course turns left (eastwards) on road, becomes a rough track after 200m past Winthrop Gardens (open on the day) and after 100m becomes a field-side path on rough grass. The path becomes easier as it reaches King's Pond Plantation which it passes before turning left. A kissing gate gives access to a short lane at the pond, then a long uphill road to Bramley Cemetery. At the cemetery (top of the hill), course turns left on to Wood Lane (road, used by estate vehicles). At the limit of the housing, an exit to Wood Lane track takes you back to the Wood. If this is the first lap turn left into the Wood. On the second lap continue straight ahead to finish (400m) on Wood Lane." |

"The Half Marathon gently descends the beautiful coastal path along the dramatic sea cliffs, with panoramic views down the coastline towards Scarborough, on reaching Petard point it is through Staintondale via open fields, woodland and the disused railway line until you reach Cloughton Wyke, then it is back to Ravenscar all the way on the coastal footpath via the picturesque roller coastal of Hayburn Wyke (that is a nice way of saying a killer of a down and uphill section that will make your legs and lungs burn). Then back to Ravenscar for those stunning sea cliff views (though you will still be sweating from the last bit and hoping for the sea wind not to blow)."
